yesterday I was working hardly on some stuff. The first five vets are about to be finished, it just remain some highlight, specially in the gloves and guns, and I must paint the visors and glasses, but I don't know how I can imitate the glass (ANY HELP WILL BE PRICELESS!). So, here they are:

Reloading and plasma gunner (weathering and plasma effects remaining):
White stripes detail. This is a badge used for identify airbone troops:
The plasma gun is a scratchbuild version. I have found a plasma pistol from assault marines in my bitz box. Then I made an easy and rudimentary mold with green stuff, using plasticard pipes as guides. The rest of the parts are obtained from a laser rifle and a plasticard pipe. I like the overall product. In some time I'll build another two plasma gunners and three fusion gunners, so I'll post a tutorial about how I build it.The heads are cadian heads, with handly made covered masks and airbone goggles. These are supposed to be used just in the jump, so no one of them wears it on. I know, my sculpting abbilities are rudimentary, but I'm learning.
The gloves are characteristic from airbone troops, and I remembered the dark red berets of the british airbone commandos. I thought that colour will be a nice contrast and will be a nice distinctive for my vet troops.
I have two problems and need help to solve them.
First - I don't know how to paint glass (for the goggles)
Second - I don't know how I can paint the plasma rifle. I was thinking about painting the pipe like it was transparent, with some kind of fuel inside, but I have no idea how I can do this.
If anyone could help me I will be more than satisfied!!!!
Very nice paint job, simple but very effective. Love the camouflage scheme.

Don't know how to advise on what you have questions with, as my efforts aren't doing so well. But, wanted to say I like the red gloves idea; it's a good way to make the vets stand out.
ReplyDeleteI'm very glad you like it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment Kevin!
